WELCOME!
We are a play-based preschool for children 3 to 5 years old in the heart of Lynn Valley in North Vancouver, on the ancestral, traditional, unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples. We are lucky to get to call the historic Lynn Valley School building our home! Our preschool is non-profit, founded and maintained by parents and caregivers who want to provide a quality educational experience for their children. Visit us on Instagram to see what we’ve been up to recently!

WHY LYNN VALLEY PRESCHOOL
OUTDOORS: We have one of the most unique natural outdoor spaces of any school, full of loose parts, invitations for imaginary play, digging, bike riding and so much more, including a custom built water feature. (Is there a preschooler that doesn’t love water play?) We spend most of our days fully outside.
CHILD-LED: We let the children lead the exploration and discovery via play. The teachers provide resources and set up new play and exploration invitations based on the children’s current interests.
COMMUNITY ORIENTED: We pride ourselves in fostering a tight knit community not just among children, but also among parents via our parent involvement model. Furthermore, we are lucky to be located right in the heart of Lynn Valley, and you can often see us out and about enjoying our local community and participating in events.
“When we moved to Lynn Valley, I did my research when looking for a preschool for my children. Only Lynn Valley Preschool promised (and delivered!) a sense of community that I found valuable not only for my little ones, but for myself. The connections made between parents during participation days, meetings, social events, and before/after class are some of the benefits of the parent involvement model. I was worried I would feel isolated in a new neighbourhood. Instead, I found myself running into friends at the park and in the Village. Friendships my children and I have made at LVPPP will only continue to thrive as we move forward into elementary school on the North Shore.”

“We are lucky to be a part of the LVPPP preschool community. I consider it our ‘village’ that helps us raise our children in a very caring and inclusive environment. Both of my sons attended LVPPP and both are highly sensitive kids who can find their environment overwhelming. It has been heartwarming to see my children were allowed to be who they are. Their uniqueness is celebrated and their individual needs respected and supported every step of the way.”
